–Who is the course for?

This 5-day course is for anyone who wants to teach others to move people safely

Also suitable for those involved in undertaking risk assessments and identifying safe solutions.
Please note it is essential that candidates are up to date with their moving & handling training prior to embarking on this course.

–Aims of the course-

To provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to to prepare and deliver moving & handling training to their staff.

–The course consists of-

Spinal structure and back care

Current legislation and legal issues surrounding the movement of people

Keeping effective records

Risk assessment including risk-scoring systems for staff and service users

Basic teaching skills including preparing lesson plans

Practical handling skills and the prescription of handling aids

Testing and developing candidates’ training skills

–How is learning assessed?

Design and delivery of short manual handling theory and practical teaching sessions which they are required to deliver to other members of the group.
